Flora Best

Sarasota, Florida formerly of Canton – Flora Delorese Best, 94, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Springwood Center in Sarasota, Florida.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas David and Argyle Hall Best.  Delorese was the second youngest of eight children and had lived in Canton until 2 and a half years ago when health issues required a move to be near her niece.  She retired from Champion Paper and Fiber Company and was a member of the Canton Garden Club, The Historical Society and Canton Central United Methodist Church.  Delorese enjoyed reading, needle work and creating craft items.

She is survived by a niece, Clara Ellen Howell of Sarasota, Florida; and three nephews, Jack White of Perry, Georgia, John White of Thomasville, Georgia and Samuel White of Columbus, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Paul D. Brown officiating.
