Canton, Faye Louise Lemmons Owen, age 72, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019 surrounded by her family.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Fannie Mashburn Lemmons.  Faye owned and operated the Community Care Nursing Home for 40 years, retiring in 2012.  She was a devoted caretaker who was blessed to serve countless families and residents over the years.  One of her favorite activities with her residents was the annual ramp fry.  Following retirement, Faye enjoyed traveling the United States with Rodger or loafin' at Fontana at the house boat, but her greatest treasure and blessing was spending time with her beloved grandchildren who affectionately called her Mom.

Faye is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rodger Owen; one son, Ricky Owen, of Canton; one sister, Rachel Wilson, and her husband, Bobby, of Canton; two brothers, Leonard Lemmons, of Charlotte and Larry Lemmons, and his wife, Peggy, of Canton; two grandsons, Keiffer and Cody Owen; and two great-grandsons, Canaan and Steven Owen.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
