Evelyn Smith

Clyde – Evelyn Hannah Smith, 96, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at John F. Keever Solace Center.

A native of Macon County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Willie Green Hannah.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Smith, who died in 1996; a son, Henry Smith, who died in 1990; and she was the last of her family with 14 siblings preceding her in death.  Evelyn retired from American Enka with 25 years of service, a seasonal employee of Gem Motel in Lake Junaluska for 20 years and retired at age 80.

Evelyn is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2019 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Gene Sizemore officiating.  Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
