Eugene Davis

Leicester- Eugene "Gene" Mitchell Davis - 76 of 852 Newfound Road died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at Mission - St. Joseph Health Care System.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County and a son of the late Loran Mitchell and Sallie Jane Brooks Davis. He was a retired Dairy farmer and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Leicester. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Retty Hall Davis; two daughters and their husbands, Susan D. and Eddie Stahr of Flat Rock, NC and Cathey D. and Steve Rymer of Leicester; two sons, Lyndon Davis of Leicester and Ralph M. Davis of Asheville; five grandsons, Stacey and Timothy Morrow, Brooke Stahr, Jeremy and Cameron Rymer.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm. Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery in Leicester. The family will receive friends Friday, November 1, 2002 at Wells Funeral Homes in Canton from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. and at other times will be at Gene's home.
