Ethel Brooks

Waynesville, Ethel Jean Dixon Kirkpatrick Brooks, 91, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Creekside Villas.

A native of Madison County, Ethel was the daughter of the late Hugh Monroe and Bessie Hicks Dixon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kirkpatrick who passed away in 1980 and husband, Floyd Ernest Brooks, who passed away in 2013; a sister, Laura Russell; and a brother, Jack Dixon. Ethel was employed for 15 years at the Enka Corporation. She was a member of the Mountain View Church of God and she loved to read her bible and was very spiritual.

Ethel is survived by two sons, Dean Kirkpatrick and his wife, Trudy of Clyde, and Robert Kirkpatrick and his wife, Holly of Lake Junaluska; a sister, Sue Foster of Cruso, NC; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Chip Plemmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens following services.
