Estelle Wood

Estelle Morgan Wood, 85, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, following a long illness. She was born in Jackson County and lived most of her life in Macon and Haywood counties. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Shook Morgan; husband, Erastus Wood; and granddaughter, Monica Metcalf. She was a long-time member of Clyde First Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Vivian Wood-Metcalf; son, Dr. Olin Wood of Asheville; granddaughters Alana Acker of Macungie, PA and Raina Wood of Knoxville, TN; great granddaughter, Gillian Acker of Macungie, PA; and foster grandson Tim Breedlove of Clyde. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2008 at The Garden Mausoleum in Crawford –Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde with the Reverend James Parham officiating. Memorials may be made to Broyhill Baptist Children's Home, 111 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
