Erwin Bailey

Waynesville, Erwin Hollingsworth Bailey, age 89, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 peacefully at her home.

A native of Johnson City, TN she was the daughter of the late Thomas Ernest and Dorothy Aull Hollingsworth; in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Hollingsworth, Jr., and Dody. Erwin was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. With a passion for the arts, Erwin steadfastly supported the Performing Arts Center in Waynesville. She was also a charter of the Waynesville chapter of Promoting Education Opportunities (P.E.O.). Erwin also enjoyed fellowshipping with her friends as a member of the Little Mountain Bridge Club and Laurel Ridge Country Club.

Erwin is survived by her husband of 37 years, Kenneth D. Bailey, of Waynesville; three daughters, Dorothy Richardson and husband, Jimtom, of Clyde, NC, Debra Bailey, of Pensacola, FL and Kathryn Flanagan and husband, Steve, of Yulee, FL; two sons, Warren Anderson, Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Jacksonville, FL, and Kenneth David Bailey, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Seattle, WA; one sister, Ann Kibler, of Kingsport, TN; the father of her children, Warren K. Anderson, Sr., of St. Augustine, FL; four grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Anderson, Reymonn Santo and Taylor Bailey; and one great-grandchild, Sylvie Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Reverend Dr. Keith Turman officiating. A reception will follow the service at Wells Events and Reception Center.
