Ernest Anthony Moberly, Jr.

Ernest Anthony Moberly, Jr., known affectionately as Ernie, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Buncombe County. Born on December 21, 1954, in East Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Ernest Anthony Moberly Sr., and Dorothy Bendel Moberly.

Ernie dedicated many years of his life to his career as a short haul truck driver with Banks Trucking. He approached his work with determination and commitment, always ensuring that his deliveries were made promptly and efficiently. Ernie's work ethic was truly admirable. Ernie also served his country in the United States Marine Corp.

Ernie was a devoted husband to Vicky Williams Moberly for 22 happy years. Their marriage was a testament to their deep love and support for one another. Ernie cherished every moment spent with Vicky and considered her the rock upon which he built his life.

Family meant the world to Ernie, and he held them close to his heart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister.

Ernie's love continues to live on through those he leaves behind. He is survived by two daughters, Angie Ellison (John) and Kim Crumbie; two sons, Brandon Owens and Ernest Anthony Moberly III; two sisters; one brother; one granddaughter, Mileena Tyree (Caleb); and two great-grandchildren, Bella and Beau-Matthew Tyree. Ernie's grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He adored them deeply and found immense joy in spending time with them.

A Memorial Service will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, with Pastor David Pittman officiating.  The memorial service will take place at the residence, located at 101 Rainbow Lane, Candler, NC.

Throughout his life, Ernie embraced his role as a provider, a confidant, and a source of strength for his family and friends. His kind heart, warm smile, and comforting presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

As we say our final farewell to Ernie Moberly, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives. May his spirit live on in our hearts as we continue to honor his memory through our own acts of kindness and love. Rest in peace, dear Ernie.
