Ernest Brock

Canton, Ernest William Brock, age 70, of Max Thompson Road, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Woody Brock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Adam Brock. Ernest was a mechanic in a Textile Mill and was a member of Assembly of Faith. He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Brock of Canton, Lynn Smathers of Asheboro, and Becky Grafe (Charles) of Tennessee; a son, Dwayne Brock of Gastonia; seven sisters, Karen Wright, Lynn Medlin, Brenda Neal (Jimmy), June Cook (Charles), Eva Brock, Linda Robinson and Sharon Rosenberg (Eric); five brothers, Marvin, Ronnie, Harry, Donnie and Danny Brock; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Services and burial will take place in Gastonia.
