Waynesville – Emma Grace Morrow, age 17, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025. Emma Grace was born on June 01, 2008, in Buncombe County. Emma Grace was an exceptional student and a senior at Tuscola High School. Emma Grace was an avid saxophonist and a beloved member of the award-winning Tuscola Marching Mountaineers. Starting at age 7, Emma Grace embarked on a lifelong love of soccer. In her freshman year at Tuscola, she was ranked Number 3 in the State of North Carolina and nationally ranked at Number 7 in her position as Goalkeeper. Emma Grace continued in her success through her sophomore year. Emma Grace love of animals knew no bounds. Every animal she met was her friend.

Emma Grace is preceded in death by her Grandfather, Philip P. Blevins of Waynesville, N.C.; her Grandfather, Troy E. Morrow, of Asheville, N.C.; her grandmother, Emma Lou Morrow (Gran) of Asheville, N.C.; and her Uncle, Kevin A. Blevins of Robbinsville, N.C.

Emma Grace is survived by her parents, Douglas Eugene Morrow of Asheville, N.C., and Tara Montez Blevins of Waynesville, N.C. Emma Grace is also survived by her Grandmother, Montez P. Blevins on Waynesville, N.C.; her Aunt, Siri D. Hoover (Franklin) of Robbinsville, N.C.; her Aunt, Deah M. Branson (Joseph) of Canton, N.C.; her Aunt, Kathy M. Sulc, of Disputanta, Virginia; Aunt Carolyn J. Blevins, of Waynesville, N.C.; and countless cousins and beloved friends, and pets.

Emma Grace was loved by many, especially Rick George (Uncle); Mousie Evans (Jedi Knight); Randy Brackett; Evan Brackett; Ryan Moore Lynn Mull, Hal White, Jr.; and many, many, friends at Tuscola High School and in Waynesville, N.C, and Asheville, N.C.

The family would like to invite friends to come together and celebrate Emma Grace on Friday October 24, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Long’s Chapel located at 133 Old Clyde Rd, Waynesville, NC 28785 with Pastor Chris Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends and family starting two hours prior to service at 10:00 a.m. at Long’s Chapel. Services will be video streamed through Longs Chapel. Everyone who knew and loved Emma Grace is welcome with open arms. Internment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Western Carolinas State Veterans Cemetery located at 962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711.

The family of Emma Grace Morrow would like to extend the highest honor to the entire County of Haywood, the Sheriff of Haywood County, William Wilke; his deputies, and School Resource Officers; the Waynesville Police Department; the 43rd Judicial District; Haywood County Health & Human Services Agency; Haywood County School Board; and the students and administration of Tuscola High School for their unwavering support.

In honor of Emma Grace, donations can be made payable to the Tuscola High School Marching Mountaineers.
