Ellie Jane Caldwell Morrow

Waynesville, Ellie Jane “Nellie” Caldwell Morrow, age 74, passed away on, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at her home.

A native of Haywood County, Nellie was the daughter of the late Jarvis and Wilsye Trantham Caldwell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lucky Caldwell; sister, Maggie Lee Cagle; three nephews, Homer Sutton, Jamie Rich and Darren Cagle; and two nieces, Sandra Gentry and Carolyn Jones.

Nellie was a wonderful cook and an excellent seamstress.  She enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets.  Some of her favorite past times were camping and fishing.

Nellie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Morrow; two sons, Terry Morrow and Mike Morrow; a daughter, Anita Smith and her husband, Burton, all of Waynesville; four sisters, Mary Sue Gentry, Wilma Thompson and her husband, Doug, Hazel Rich and her husband, Frank, and Barbara “Bobby” Cagle and her husband, Garland; five grandchildren, Levi Smith, Luke Smith and Chase Morrow, Shaye Morrow and Sarah Morrow.

A celebration of Nellie’s life will be held in a few short months at Cove Creek Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Leaf Adult Respite, where Nellie attended for several years, and give a special thank you to Bea Hoglen for her compassionate care this last year.
