Ellen Wyatt

Clyde – Ellen Rash Wyatt, 93, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at her residence.

Ellen was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Frank and Nettie Franklin Rash.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Walter "Crip" Wyatt, who died in 2011; a son, Keith Wyatt; and three sisters, Juanita Rash, Shirley Young, and Irene Ledford.  Ellen was a secretary for Dr. Hugh Daniel, Jr. optometrist for 32 years and was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church.  She enjoyed people, talking on the phone, shopping and most of all loved being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Carmen Wilde (Richard) of Clyde; a brother, Clarence "Bill" Rash (Delores) of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Caroline Parrish (Mike), Julie Riva (Tony), and Dr. Colt Wilde (Alexa); and three great-grandchildren, Will Riva, Grey and Edie Wilde.

A gathering of friends will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haywood County Schools Foundation, 1233 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC  28786.

The care of Mrs. Wyatt has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville.
