Elizabeth "Pat" Swanger

Elizabeth McDaniel Swanger, a lifelong resident of Waynesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Pat was born September 29, 1938, in Haywood County to the late Jack and Elizabeth Sutton McDaniel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ruby Frazier and nieces.  Pat graduated from Waynesville Township High School in 1956 and attended Western Carolina College.

Pat is survived by her beloved family, husband, Jack, of 62 years; son, Charles and daughter-in-law, Susanne, of Asheville; granddaughter, Brooke, and her husband, Dr. Patrick Perkins, of Raleigh; and niece, Lucinda Frazier Ledford, of Clyde.

Our PatPat was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind beautiful memories.  Her giving heart and love of animals, especially cats, will be remembered by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in the chapel at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Patrick Womack officiating.  Mask are required.
