Waynesville, Elias M. Borges, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native of Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Antonio and Mary Cabral Borges. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Borges, who died in 2015; a son, Edmund Borges; two sisters and two brothers. When Ray moved to Waynesville, Eli and Wilma moved. He became the full-time greeter at his son’s business, Log Cabin Frozen Treats. Each morning he would place the flags, sweep the lot and look forward to greeting customers throughout the day.
Elias is survived by his son, Ray Borges, and his wife, Nanette, of Waynesville; grandchildren, Nicole and Joshua Borges; and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Telzer, of New Jersey.
