Eleanor Farmer

August 23, 1913 — March 23, 2007

Waynesville-Eleanor Farmer, age 93, died on Friday, March 23, 2007 at McCracken Rest Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Maude Garner McCracken. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Moody Onville Farmer who died in 1974 and two brothers, Jack and Eugene McCracken. Eleanor loved to cook and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club of Haywood County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville. She is survived by three sons, Joe, of Waynesville, Johnny and his wife, Kim, of Rancho Cordova, CA, and Jerry Farmer and his wife, Maxine, of Waynesville; one brother, Hugh McCracken and his wife, Chuck, of Texas City, TX; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Robert Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
