Maggie Valley-Edward Doolin, age 86, of Highland Loop, died Saturday, February 3, 2007, at Hope Hospice South in Ft. Myers, FL. A native of Grayson County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Mack and Cora Shane Doolin. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, a son, a grandchild, and one brother. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and a retired superintendent of Manatee Utilities Company. Edward loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Christine Tarver Doolin; three daughters, Tonya Cummings of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Teresa Hauber and her husband, Andy, of Fitzgerald, GA, and Carrol Sue Marrossi and her husband, Jerry, of Southhaven, MS; two step-daughters, Carole Mullins and her husband, Kerry, of Maggie Valley and Vickey Gore of Sarasota, FL; two step-sons, Stuart Phillips and his wife, Polly, of Englewood, FL, and Milton Rines and his wife, Cordy, of Ft. Myers, FL; one sister, Maxine Geary, of Caneyville, KY; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2007, at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Reverend Jeremy Troxler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.
