Edna Wilson

Candler, Edna Mae Stevens Wilson, age 99, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home.

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Mary Ann Wyatt Stevens.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Monroe James Wilson, who died in 1972, and 9 siblings.

Edna was a cook at various restaurants throughout Buncombe County.  Edna was in the grandparent program at Elida Home and enjoyed cooking, quilting, and her flowers.

She is survived by three daughters, Margie Marshall (Zylon) of Palm Coast, Florida, Jean Hawes of Arden, and Dinah Green (Ray) of Canton; two sons, Bruce Wilson (Lou) of Maggie Valley, and Steve Wilson and his fiancée, Kathleen, of Candler; 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating.  Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
