Edna Rathbone

Waynesville, Edna Haynes Rathbone, age 87, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Autumn Care.

A native of Haywood County she was a daughter of the late Furman and Minnie Parton Haynes.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaither Rathbone who died in 1994; son, Roger Rathbone; a brother and two sisters.  Edna was a member of Fines Creek United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and sewing.

Edna is survived by a daughter, Rita Kirkpatrick, of Gaffney, South Carolina; two sons, Randy Rathbone, and his wife, Mary Lou and Mike Rathbone, all of Fines Creek; sister, Virginia Clark, of Clyde; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fines Creek United Methodist Church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
