EARNEST B. WOOD

Waynesville-Earnest B. Wood, age 89, died Monday, March 24, 2003 at the Brian Center.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Erastus and Dennis Sutton Wood. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cena Aletha Cagle Wood; two sons, Amos, and George Wood; and a brother, Robert Wood.

He is survived by two sons, James Wood, and his wife, Judy, of Maggie Valley, and Frank Wood and his wife, Ruth, of Canton; a sister, Lacey Allison, of Waynesville; a brother, Marion Wood, of Clyde; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held at Caldwell Cemetery.
