Dr. Robert J. Lenar passed away at his home on December 27th in Maggie Valley at the age of 86.
Robert’s life was a life of service to his country, as a Captain in the Air Force, his patients, and his family and friends.
Robert graduated from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His esteemed career as a Doctor of Internal Medicine spanned decades and included the position of Chief of Staff at North Broward Medical Center.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Joan. He is survived by his stepchildren, Lyn Dibble, Jennifer Statler, and Bill Driest; as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Robert had a close-knit community of friends in South Florida and Maggie Valley where he was able to reconnect with childhood friends. He was most happy at the family home where he spent his final days.
Information regarding a memorial will be released at a later time.
The care of Dr. Lenar has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
