Dr. Rhew, Jr.

Maggie Valley, Dr. David Thompson Rhew, Jr., age 77, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his residence.

A native of Corpus Christi, Texas he was the son of the late David Thompson and Doris Cauley Rhew. David was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church. His heart resided with the Baptist Church. Throughout his career he worked for several seminaries, the past 20 years David was the Director of Library at Luther Rice Seminary.

David is survived by his brother, Donald Rhew, and his wife, Janice, of Boise, Idaho; two nephews, Jason Rhew and Derik Wills; and a niece, Candice Partin, and her husband, Ryan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Dellwood Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Rogers, Dr. Jim Flanagan and Reverend Dean Clonz officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
