Waynesville – Doug Burrell, 63, was born on October 25, 1958, and passed away peacefully on September 29, 2022 in his home with his beloved dog, Bitsy, by his side.
Doug was predeceased by his father, Reuben Burrell; stepfather, Glen White; and brother, Courtney White. He was a great son, father, brother, uncle and handyman. Doug entertained everyone with his ‘tales’ and hand gestures. He could make any child laugh with his Donald Duck voice. He was a small engine expert. He could build/repair just about anything. He loved NASCAR, fishing, Tarheel basketball, Harley Davidson and his 2nd amendment rights. Doug was a 1977 graduate of Enka High School and was currently employed by Premier Magnesium. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was survived by his mother, Joyce White; daughters, Autumn Burrell and Andrea Talley (husband Josh Talley); granddaughters, Brooklyn Hollifield and Cassidy Burrell; sisters, Tawnia Burrell and Raynia White (fiancé Tim Moore); nephews, Travis Cagle, Trentin Malone, Trevor Cagle; nieces Wendae Snelson and Courtney Lynn White.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jonathan Michael officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
