Dorothy “Dot” Thompson Rodrigues, 94, of Asheville passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Bella Vista Gracious Living Community. A native of Corry, PA, she was the daughter of the late Delford and Eva Klasch Kimmy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon B. Thompson; second husband, Daniel R. Rodrigues; brothers, Ralph Kimmy and Kenny Vanderhoof and grandson, Eric A. Glontz.
Dot had worked for Raymonds Manufacturing as a file clerk for 10 years. While living in Belleview, Florida she often enjoyed golfing with her friends. She loved gardening and beautiful flowers.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joan Theuret and her husband, Terry, Judy Glontz, Jackie Bable and her husband, Donald and Jeanette Thompson and her significant other, Robert Caples; sister, Alice McCray and her husband, Willard; sister-in-law, Sue Kimmey; brothers, Melvin “Sonny” Vanderhoof, and his wife, Rose, and Don Vanderhoof; three grandchildren, Brian Aikens, Aaron Saeger and Shawn Saeger and seven great-grandchildren, Alejandra Aikens, Brandon Aikens, Devan Saeger, Skyler Saeger, Finley Saeger, Jacob Glontz and Lucas Glontz.
Interment will be held at a later date at Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The care of Mrs. Rodrigues has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
