Dorothy Heiskell

Knoxville, TN - Dorothy Noble Timmons Heiskell, 96, of Knoxville, TN passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 15, 2022.  A native of Tulia, Texas, she was daughter of the late N. W. and Bertha Mae Burgess Timmons.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin LeRoy Heiskell and a granddaughter, Kelly Andrew.

A 1943 graduate of Dalhart, Texas, Dorothy spent her early years in Texas and New Mexico and married Calvin “Cal” Heiskell in 1947. She took some classes at Haywood Tech Community College and volunteered with a hospital in Anderson, South Carolina. Her hobbies included bowling, playing cards, dominoes, sewing and weaving. Her favorite pastime was square-dancing with Cal, which they enjoyed for decades and even won an award.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Nancy Andrew of Knoxville, TN; sons, Larry Heiskell and his wife, Betsy of Knoxville, TN and Tim Heiskell and his wife, Rebecca of Glen Alpine, NC; four grandchildren, Kansas Heiskell Cook, Hannah Heiskell and Michael Heiskell all of NC and Tyler Andrew of Maryville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Oliver and Lilly Cook of NC and Aylee Andrew of Maryville, TN.

A memorial service will be held at Knoxville Christian Center at a later date.

The care of Mrs. Heiskell has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
