Dorothy Greene

Clyde, Dorothy Woody Greene, 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Smoky Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late John Stokley Woody and Vaughty Ann Reynolds Woody. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curnal S. Greene, who died in 2003; a son, Roy Lynn Greene; a son-in-law, Jerry Trantham; and several brothers and sisters. Dorothy was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, coloring and taking care of the young ones.

Dorothy is survived by eight daughters, Brenda Beasley (Charles), Linda Barlow (Richard), Sue Bivens (Shane), Dorothy Ramsey (Thomas), Carolyn Roberts (Jim Locker), Marlene Trantham, Betsy Sutton (William) and Nancy Finger (Terry); four sons, Lowell Greene (Donna), Ronald Greene (Edna), Steven Greene (Connie) and Billy Greene (Reba Bolick); ten grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Panther Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Greene, Reverend Jerry Nelson and Steven Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to services at the church.
