Dorothy Caldwell

Dorothy Dalton Caldwell, age 83, formerly of Clyde died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. She was a native of Maryville, TN and lived in Haywood County most of her life and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vira Dalton. She was preceded in death by a son, James Dalton; two sisters, Elsie Smith and Edith Sheppard; three brothers, Frank, Jack and Basil Dalton. She retired from Dayco International and was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. In addition to her husband of 43 years, Clarence Gilmer Caldwell, she is survived by a niece, Linda Sheppard of Canton; two nephews, Charles Sheppard of Florida and Jerry Sheppard of Canton; a stepdaughter, Linda Estes and her husband, David of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her caregivers, Jency and Nathalie Knox and Ola Faulkner. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Dr. Jack Sammons officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Linda Sheppard, 54 Pharr Street, Canton.
