Dorothie Williams

"1922 – 2017" Asheville – Dorothie Chapman Williams, 94, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Julius Haywood and Rebecca Robinson Chapman. Dorothie was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church and enjoyed working in crafts and sewing. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Junius E. Williams; a daughter, Dana W. Shelton and husband, Larry, of Clyde; and one sister, Mickey McElrath of Black Mountain; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Fred Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Buncombe County, 146 Victoria Road, Asheville, NC 28801.
