Maggie Valley-On Monday, February <br>2, 2007 Donald L. Printz passed away one week after his 77th birthday due to liver and kidney failure.<br><br>He was born in Reading, PA to John Donald and Mary Mehaffey Printz on February 5, 1930. Donald was a graduate of Edison High School in Miami, FL. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. After his military service, he served more than 25 ½ years in the Miami Police Department. The Police Benevolent Association was fortunate to have him as president for 11 years. He sat on the City of Miami Pension Board and also the Civil Service Board. Donald's retirement plans included a move to the North Carolina mountains where he soon became a Real Estate Broker. In his later years he mastered the art of rock laying and his work can be found throughout Haywood County. He will be greatly missed as a volunteer for Within Reach in Canton, NC.<br><br>He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Printz; a daughter, Dori Woodard, of Waynesville; a son, Darrin Printz of Maggie Valley; a sister, Patsy Hill of Palm City, FL; five granddaughters, Madison and Teal Woodard, Heather, Hayley, and Regan Printz; and one great granddaughter Aiyana Rose Printz.<br><br>Military services will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47 at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Waynesville. The family will receive friends following the service until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Reach of Haywood County, P.O.
