Donald Hill, Sr.

Canton, Donald Wayne Hill, Sr., age 71, passed away on, Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home.

Donald was a native of Iowa and had lived in Haywood County since 1997.  He was the son of the late William and Mary Winfield Hill.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Ingle Hill, and a son, Jason Hill.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He worked as an engineer with Burlington Northern Railroad in Casper, Wyoming, and retired from Alaska Railroad after 24 years of service as a trainmaster.  Donald enjoyed golf, motorcycles and cars.

He is survived by his son, Donnie Hill of Canton; sister, Laura Staker, and her husband, Craig, of Thermopolis, Wyoming; brother, Jim Hill, and his wife, Deneen, of Lenexa, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Tanner, Damon, Ella and Maggie Hill.
