Cruso, Dois Rogers, age 87, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. Dois was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, and was the son of the late Ed and Virgie Pressley Rogers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Rogers. Dois worked at American Enka for 20 years prior to retiring from the maintenance department of Champion International in Waynesville with 25 years service. He was a member of the Sonoma Masonic Lodge # 472 A.F.&A.M. for 58 years. Dois served two terms on the Haywood County School Board He was a United States WWII Navy veteran serving in the Pacific. He was a member of East Fork Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Craig Rogers, of Canton; two daughters, Andrea Burress, and her husband, Reverend Jimmy Burress of Mills River; and Marilyn Greene, and her husband, Donald, of Canton; one sister, Berlyn Farmer, of Canton; one brother, Wade Rogers, of Canton; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services and Masonic Rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009 at East Fork Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton and at other times the family will be at the residence of Marilyn Green.
