Dixie Paige

Waynesville, Dixie Rhinehart Paige, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Mission Hospital Memorial Campus.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Maggie Hance Rhinehart.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry "Joe" Paige; sister, Wilsie Rhinehart; three brothers, Bud, Clyde and Kenneth Rhinehart.  Dixie retired from Wellco with 32 years of service.  She enjoyed telling stories of her life, spending time with her grandchildren and was a pet lover to her dog Angel.

Dixie is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Jones and Lenora Jones; son Keith Jones, and his fiancée Vicky Harris; seven grandchildren, Shantry Smalling, Stephanie Stewart, Brent Jones, Charlie McDaniel (Stevie), Michael Stewart (Annie), Dusty Jones, and Andrea Yost (Jay); and eleven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022, in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart and Reverend Steve Rhinehart officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
