Dixie Gibson

May 26, 1936 — September 13, 2002

Waynesville-Dixie Williams Gibson, age 66, of Hendrix Street, died Friday, September 13, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was a native of Jackson County and was the daughter of Wiley Williams, of Waynesville and the late Minnie Curtis Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Robert Gibson, Jr., who died in 1996.

She was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church and was an inspector for Wellco for 25 years retiring in 1997. She loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she is survived by three daughters, Deborah Hoskins and her husband, Richard, of Titusville, Florida, Karen Prebble and her husband, Robert McElroy, of Clyde and Lesia London and her husband, Robert, of Waynesville; one son, Tim Gibson and his fiancé, Darlene Cagle, of Waynesville; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Sunday, September 15, 2002 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The Reverend Jeff Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the funeral home.

The pallbearers will be Jimmy McClure, Brandon Ferguson, Joe Boyd, Ronnie Mills, Bobby and Arthur Seitler.
