Waynesville, David John Miller, 69, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his residence
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, he was the son of Robert Peter and Bernadine Welters Miller and was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Miller. He was a US Navy Veteran and was a retired Plant Manager and Architectural Designer at Miller Glass of Arden, where he was employed for 16 years. David and his wife, Nadine, constructed their home with their own hands on Qualla Road and enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren. David also enjoyed his hobbies, including pen and ink art, coin collecting and his antique tractors. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nadine McGrath Miller; a daughter, Jessica Miller and special friend, Lee McAndrews of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Kaley and Brandon; a sister, Mary Anne McDougall and her husband, Fred, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; four brothers, Robert Miller and his wife, Ilene of Stillwater, Minnesota, Jim Miller of Kansas, Joel and his wife, Kathy of Chicago, Illinois and Ronald Miller of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Jason Smith officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
