Tignal, Georgia, David Earl Davis, age 74, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 in Wilkes County Georgia.

A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Robert F. and Bessie Conner Davis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Davis.  Earl proudly served during the Vietnam era in the United States Army and was a purple heart recipient. He had purchased a home several years ago in Tignal, Georgia where he spent many enjoyable hours fishing, riding the back roads and deer hunting.

Earl is survived by his wife, Iris "Tiny" Davis; daughter Missy Jenkins; son, Robbie Davis (Sherry); two sisters, Bobbie Suttles (Bob) and Brenda Smathers (Dennis); five grandchildren, Colten and Grace Jenkins, Levi, Ashton and Ashley Davis.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Banks officiating.  Military honors will follow.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family expressed thanks and gratitude for the meals, phone calls and expressions of sympathy.
