Waynesville, David Lloyd Crocker, 76, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville.
A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Rendall C. and Margaret Frances Carey Crocker. He was a highly decorated retired US Army Colonel having served during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a fleet manager for Volusia County, Florida for ten years. David was a member of Grace Church in the Mountains and loved to play golf.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anne Craven Crocker; a son, Glenn David Crocker (Doe) of Knoxville, Tennessee; a daughter, Susan Paige Mullis (David) of Catawba, South Carolina; a brother, Ronald C. Crocker (Donna) of Massachusetts; two sisters, Diane C. Pekin (Tarik) also of Massachusetts and Linda L. Genovese (Robert) of Vermont; a sister-in-law, Linda L. Gray (Albert) of Massachusetts;; three grandchildren, Rachel A. Crocker, Kira L. Crocker and Danielle A. Mullis; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Maggie.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Grace Church in the Mountains with The Reverend Joslyn Ogden Schaefer officiating. Entombment will be in the Memory Garden Mausoleum at the church.
