Danny Jones

Waynesville-Danny Harley Jones, age 53, of 293 Little Cove Road, died Thursday, December 18, 2003 at his residence.

He was a native of Haywood County and a member of Grandview Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed carpentry and restoring automobiles.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Rhinehart Jones; his father, Julius Jones of Waynesville; his mother, Lucille Edwards of Eugene, Oregon; four daughters, Leigh Revels and her husband, William of Canton, Danielle Jones of Asheville, Spring McKenzie of Balsam, and Holly Jones of Waynesville; his son, Benny Pettus of Waynesville; a step-sister, Angie Fowler of Waynesville; six brothers, Tommy, Timmy, Talmadge, Willie, Joe, and Jerry Jones, all of Waynesville; and two grandchildren.

Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Asheville VA Medical Center, General Post Fund 1000, Attention: Voluntary Services (135), 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805-2087.

Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
