Danny Burrell

Danny Keith Burrell, 71, of Candler died on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Haywood Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late William “Willie” and Mildred Burrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Burrell.

Danny was a member of the Buncombe branch of the Sons of the Confederacy, and a lifelong member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Burrell; sons, Brian Burrell  and wife, Karen of Perth,  Australia and Jeff Burrell of Asheville; step-son, Chris Lail and wife, Karen of Waynesville; sister, Teresa Herrin and husband, David of Candler; three grandchildren, Dakota, Cheyenne and Faith Burrell; three step-grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in 2022 and will be announced to family and friends.

The care of Mr. Burrell has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
