Daniel Merritt, Jr.

Waynesville, Daniel David Merritt, Jr., 59, died June 14, 2014. Son of the late Jeanette Winfield Merritt, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Smith Merritt. He was a former employee of WNC Paving and enjoyed piddling on cars. Surviving are his father, Daniel David Merritt, Sr (Nelda); sister, Dianne Hymer (Rick); half-sister, Daneen Hollingsworth (Marlin); stepsisters, Holly Owens (Jimmy), Sharon Ford (Albert), Kathy Hiles, and Deborah Whitworth (Danny); stepbrothers, Marshall Sheets (Donna), Lee Sheets, Jr(Danielle), Mike Sheets, and Michael Millholland; and niece, Allison Wright (Paul) and their children, Cody and Lily. Memorial services at a later date.
