Dallas Hatherlee, Sr.

Dallas Ruben Hatherlee, Sr., age 67, of Lark Lane, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at MedWest-Haywood. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Ada Trull Hatherlee. Dallas was self-employed as a sheetrock installer. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan as well as a true Duke Blue Devils fan, but most of all Dallas loved his grandchildren. He is survived by a daughter, April Hatherlee and her husband, David Hetherington, of Canton; two sons, Dallas Ruben Hatherlee, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Brevard and Matthew Moore of Canton; a sister, Lillian H. Norris and her husband, Glenn, of Waynesville; his former wife, Betty Wilkie; a former son-in-law, Jody Gasperson; nine grandchildren; and many special friends. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Gwyn Cemetery with the Reverend R.H. "Bud" Lance officiating. The family will receive friends after the service from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Long Branch Baptist Church in Beaverdam. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
