Waynesville, Cora Lee Ledford, 87, of Ratcliff Cove Road left this earthly home for her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 08, 2019.

Cora Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley R. and Genie Cook Ledford; longtime companion Jay Greene; her brothers Glenn, Hugh, Jack and Foye Ledford; and sisters Gertrude Ledford, Gladys Trantham, Ruth Allen and infant sister, Elvie Ledford.  Cora retired from American Label in Canton, after retirement she spent her time cooking, baking wonderful sweets (her cornbread) for everyone, crocheting beautiful throws, and making quilts.  She never met a stranger and will be missed by many.

Cora Lee is survived by her brother, RL Ledford, and wife, Polly, several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and her special great-great nephew, Cooper Harvey, whom she loved and claimed as her own as she did many kids thru the years.  Also extended friends and neighbors who loved Cora and whom she loved like family, Greg and Michele Parrott, their children Alex, Michael, Seth and Sara; and Ann Phillips.  We appreciate all you did for Cora thru the years and for loving her unconditionally.  We can never thank you enough and will never forget your faithfulness in looking out for and caring for her.  The family wishes to thank Dale Greene for honoring his dad's wishes and making sure Cora Lee had a home all these years.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Dawn Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Ledford, Carroll Trantham, Heath and Kolby Sawyers, Derrick and Matthew Ledford, Seth Parrott, James Harvey, and Cooper Harvey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gregg, Michael and Alex Parrott, Steve Cochran, David Allen, and Rickey Ledford.

Thank you to the staff at Smokey Mountain Heath and Rehabilitation for their care of Cora.  A special "Thank You" to Linda Rathbone for all your help and being there for Cora and her family these past weeks.   The family also wishes to thank all others for your prayers, calls, texts and visits, we feel very blessed to have family and friends such as you.
