Connie Jenkins

Waynesville, Connie Parham Jenkins, age 86, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of Reverend Otto Parham and Minnie Edmonds Parham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Toad" Jenkins, who died in 2014; three brothers, Billy, Oscar, and Jim Parham; sister, Viola (Roy) Stuart. Connie was employed by Haywood Builders Supply, retiring in 1997 after 18 years. She was a faithful member of Allens Creek Baptist Church where she acted as a Sunday school teacher, a choir member, and enjoyed the fellowship of the widows group at church. Connie was involved with both the Woodmen of the World and Mountaineer Antique Auto Club. She was especially fond of the time she got to spend with her grandchildren.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Pamela Sutton (Harold), of Waynesville; son, Keith Jenkins (Dana), of Sevierville, Tennessee; sister, Betty Caldwell, of Waynesville; sister-in-law, Betty Jean Conner (Cooter); five grandchildren, Javan Sutton, Zach Sutton, Claire Jenkins, Rachel Jenkins, Lauren Hatcher (Daniel) and their daughter Joy.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Ratcliff Cove Community Cemetery with Reverend Scotty Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 12:30 a.m. at Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Allens Creek Baptist Church, 549 Allens Creek Rd, Waynesville, NC 28786.
