Canton- Colleen Stamey Bowman of Brookside Drive died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosa Faye Sisk Stamey. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lee Bowman who died in 1986 and a brother, Lawrence Stamey, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Bowman; one daughter, Tonia Bowman of Canton; two sons, Pat Bowman and his wife Karen of Canton and Keith Bowman also of Canton; three sisters, Betty Ray of Clyde, Maxine Gafhmann of Fairview and Barbara Warren of Candler; three grandchildren, Amanda and Hunter Bowman and Justin Clontz. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend W.T. Medlin and Reverend John Davis officiating. Entombment will follow in the Horizon at Crawford/Ray Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Crabtree United Methodist Church, 5405 Crabtree Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
