It matters little who you know

As long as you know God.

These are words found handwritten as a witness statement by Claude James Warren, Jr. (Sweat Bee).  Born December 1st, 1936 to Claude James Warren, Sr. and Geneva Brown Warren.  As the first born of eleven children, he knew well, and fulfilled the role of brother to Norman, Jane, Shelba, Henry, Alan, Carloyn, Daniel, Edwin, Becky, and Sam.  His love was evident to each and every one.  He shared 70 of his almost 88 years with Jackie Gibson Warren who became his bride in October of 1954.  He was Dad, supporter, and encourager to Bruce (Heidi), Nancy (Mike), Mike (Debbie), and Jonina (Robert), as well as Papaw Warren, Uncle Junior, and friend to many. 

Countless are the ripples in the pond of his life and the number of lives he touched with simple gifts of words, books, lessons, or thoughtful acts of kindness and generosity. Many enjoy grapes because of a vine he cultivated and then gave away. He loved talking about history and life in general. He was a collector of good junk and could see the value in repurposing.  He worked hard and led by example.  He left no doubt in the minds of loved ones here as to where and with whom he’ll spend eternity.  As joyous reunions have for sure already taken place, there will just as surely be more.  Until the hour comes, he will be missed beyond measure by all who knew him here on earth. 

Instead of food or flowers, the family requests that you make donations to his church: Salvation Army, 290 Pigeon St, Waynesville or your choice of church that would honor his memory.

The care of Mr. Warren  has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
