Clarence "Dez" Rivet

Clyde, Clarence "Dez" Rivet, 91, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Autumn Care.

A native of Rhode Island, Dez enjoyed the sunny skies of Florida but found his home in Haywood County since 1995.

Clarence was the son of the late Antoine and Dora Bissaillon Rivet.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Clare Cunningham and Shirley Begin; and a brother, Roland Rivet.

Dez served 34 ½ years with Pratt Whitney of West Palm Beach, Florida and retired as an engineer.  He is a member of New Covenant Church.  He enjoyed spending his time in the garden.  He had so much joy as a private pilot that he built his very own experimental airplane.

Dez is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joan A Rivet, one sister, Mona Begin, and several nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at New Covenant Church.  Military Honors will be conducted followed by receiving of friends.
