Clara Mcfalls

February 21, 1950 — April 7, 2023

Canton

Clara T. McFalls, 73, of Canton passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Haywood Regional Hospital.  A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Freeman Trull and Betty Pressley Trull. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Terrell, Joyce Allen, and Geneva Worley and a niece, Skye Ruff.

Clara worked for Belk’s Department Store in Waynesville for 34 years.  She was the Clinque Counter Manager and loved making everyone look beautiful. Her family was everything to her and she made it her mission to see them dressed fashionably. She enjoyed trips to Clemson and was an advocate for Breast Cancer.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, Dudley E. McFalls; daughter, Daphne McFalls Downs and her husband, David of Canton; sisters, Francis Mease of Canton and Betty Jo Ruff and her husband, Tim of Waynesville; brothers, Terry Trull and his wife, Juanita of Waynesville and Gary Trull and his wife, Amelia of Edneyville; three grandchildren, Kaytlyn Pressley (Brittany), Kolby Pressley (Kasee) and Eva Claire Ayala and three great-grandchildren, Rory Dean, Elara and Stetson Pressley.

She was a mother, a grandmother, a wife, a sister, and a friend to all.  She showed her selfless love and heart of service to everyone who was blessed to meet her.  She shed her light on the whole world and especially in her hometown where she will always be remembered fondly.  To know her was to love her, and she showed everyone what serving though both words and actions looked like. She cared so deeply about others and was an example of how to love genuinely, deeply, and unconditionally.  There is no way the family or community could ever repay her for her selfless loving gifts, whether it was Clinique, a smile, advice, comfort, or words of wisdom. Although she will be missed greatly, she has instilled her love in every single person she has ever interacted with and her entire community.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Royal officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Clara’s memory to Dabo’s All In Team Foundation, PO Box 1585, Clemson, SC 29633.

The care of Mrs. McFalls has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes Canton.
