Charlie Moody

February 18, 1916 — April 14, 2006

Charlie David Moody, 90, of Camp Branch Road, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County and resident of the house in which he was raised, he was the son of the late James and Ollie Howell Moody. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Lyman; two sons, Ray and Lucius Moody; three brothers, Ed, Ralph and Fred Moody; and one sister, Ruby Taylor.He was a machinist for 30 years at Royle and Pilkingtion Company and for 15 years at Wellco. He also enjoyed tinkering. He is survived by his two sons, Bruce Moody and his wife, Carol, of Hampton, Va., and James Moody and his wife, Marty, of Waynesville; sister, Geneva Pruitt of Waynesville; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville. Private burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
