Charles Sharpe

Canton – Charles Everette Sharpe, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Charles was a native of Haywood County and a son of the late Jesse Albert and Emma Pressley Sharpe.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smith Sharpe, who died in 1994 and two sisters, Lucille Cole and Ruth Long.  Charles was employed with Hugh Chatham Hospital in Elkin, North Carolina as a phlebotomist and laboratory manger and a lifelong member of Morning Star United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a grandson, Matthew Charles Sharpe of New Bern; nephew and wife, Dennis and Marlene Cole of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Morning Star Community Cemetery with the Reverend Nicole Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Morning Star United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morning Star Community Cemetery Maintenance Fund, P.O. Box 1746, Canton, NC.
