"1950 – 2015" Canton – Charles Lenoir Burris, Jr., age 64, of the Bethel community, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Memorial Mission's Asheville Campus. A native of Macon, Georgia, he was a son of the late Charles L., Sr. and Mildred Long Burris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Burris. Charles was a graduate of the University of Georgia and served as President and CEO of his own company, Best Staffing of Asheville. He was a former member of the New Bern Lions Club and also a coach and supporter of youth athletics. Charles served in the United States Army Reserves and was a soldier for Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. Charles is survived by his wife of twelve years, Sandra Burris of Canton; four sons, Charles Lenoir Burris, III of Candler, Fred Burris of Texas, Chad Brewer of Greensboro, and Lou Clark, III of Greenville, North Carolina; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dan Page officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Local Chapter, c/o Sandra Burris, 371 Murray Road, Canton, NC 28716 or to Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, (ABCCM), 30 Cumberland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
