Cathan Messer

Waynesville, Cathan Andrew Messer, fell asleep in God’s care on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Cathan was the infant son of Andrew Cody and Bethany James Messer.  He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Jonathan James and McClellan Ball; paternal great-grandparents, Marvin and Roxie Brown and Robert Messer; great-uncles, Ronnie and Robert Brown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Kathy and Ronnie James; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Marlene Messer; great-grandmothers, Doris Ball, Vivian James and Norma Messer; aunt, Dana Stapley (Matt); uncle, Nathan James; great-aunts and uncles, Bruce Brown, Donald Messer (Lane), Phil Messer (Donna), Sandra Barnette (Dennis), Lowell Ball (Kelly), Karen Stinnett, and Brian, Ronda Ross (Dan), Rachelle McKinnon (Fred), Jessica and Yvonne Brown; two first cousins, Isaac and Elias Stapley; numerous other great-great-aunts and uncles; cousins; two bonus aunts and uncle, Gloria and Larry Blanton and Patricia Papp; and special family friend, Donna Warren.

The family of Cathan wishes to thank all the family and friends for their love and support.

A private graveside service will be held at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
