Carroll Edwin Phillips, age 83, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert and Flora West Phillips. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Fore and Arvella Hawkins and two brothers, Marcell and R. P. Phillips. He was a lifetime dairy farmer and member of Pole Creek Baptist Church. Following his retirement from dairy cattle, he raised Gelbvieh cattle. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Todd Phillips; two daughters, Sandy Pressley (Don) and Anita Smith (Kenny) all of Candler; seven grandchildren, Donnie Pressley (Beth), Cindy Rogers, Shelly Flynn (David), Jason Pressley, Joshua Smith, Levi Smith (Stephanie), and Rebecca Smith; and twelve great-grandchildren, Morgan, Maddy, Macey, Maribeth, Emalee, Natalee, and Jackson Pressley, Troy Rogers, Tyler, Lacey, Caleb, and Braelyn Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Pole Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Dennis Thurman and Reverend Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Joshua and Levi Smith, Donnie and Jason Pressley, Troy Rogers, David Flynn, and Rodney and Royce Phillips.
